Safety is the most important part of our sailing program. Be aware of the following:
a) Be careful of footing. The finger docks are narrow, and are slippery when wet.
b) Don life jackets before approaching the finger dock and boat.
c) A fall may mean more than just getting wet. You could hit something on the way down with a potential for serious injury.
d) Step carefully into the boat, towards the centerline. Step carefully onto the dock when leaving the boat. Do not jump into or off from the boat.
e) Be sure to announce you’re coming and going on the boat if someone else is already in the boat. Asking “Permission to come aboard” and saying “Going ashore” are the standard ways to alert others.
