ASI racing Seminar
THE BASIC RACING SEMINAR is for new racers and sailors thinking about improving on their skills. Learn how boats go faster and safer in balance.
The racing seminar is a basic orientation to one-design racing as we will do on the Interlakes. Right- of-way rules where two or more sailboats meet are demonstrated and easy ways to remember the rules are given.
Tactics at the starting line and around the course are demonstrated.
The seminar takes the novice racers through the legs of the race: windward leg with it’s tacking, the reaching leg with a jibe, and the running leg down to the leeward mark. Safety, balance, and enjoyment are emphasized.
All rated sailors are welcome to find out what racing is about. Be sure to attend the seminar as that will prepare you to start skippering sooner. We don’t take new novice racers after that date.
